The Art of Changing of Jò BadamoIt seems that there is a universal rule born with the birth of the human kind, that takes man through the adventure of the new and even of the sensational without any solution of continuity. We saw it with the fire discovery ,with the big scientific discoveries, that intelligence tries to improve. We also saw it with the little and big inventions and we have also notice it through the art, in intellectual and spiritual’s galaxy, the artist continues to chose the taste and the aspiration of the new, he exceeds him self like Icaro did in his experience of the flight rising spiritually the new processes. That’s what happened in music , in sculpture and in graphic, and also in painting probably more complex expressive scene, where we just need to mention Picasso, Dali and Fontana’s evolution to understand. It is just a universal rule, but the exception can only confirm it.Is it just spirit of adventure? or is it only a morbid curiosity to know what’s over the historical straits of Gibilterra. Mythology, superb man invention, would confirm that it to us. The tyranny of the time cannot neither oppose this frenetic and proud wish because the works of the intelligence are imperishable witness of a great adventure.Jò Badamo can’t escape from this temptation and in a few years he leaves his monochromatic stile for a new scenary , full of bringhtness and colours, that we can identify with the ultramodern special effects, so he leaves an historical stage of rural civilization life, for an historical not historical stage, which arrives to the kolosimiano’s temple of mistery. It seems that there is a mysterious hand that imposes the mind particular choices. It isn’t the reason but the subconscious that drives the artist. The light presence of figurative and formal element ,in one way confirms us an informal evolution of the form, in the other it can’t let us define the belong to a pictorical current, even if we could refer to the surrealism or metaphysic.We are on the advise that the new Badamo always works at the unconscious level, an eschatological procedure to the last man and world’s destiny. It seems so image but it’s really like this. It seems that the artist draw larval life figures in a new time, a new world.It is sure that the artist , follows the events like an eternal Cassandra, that’s what we saw with Giulio Varrese’s phantasy to let the iron float. Apart from doctrinals, Badamo’s acrylics seems to be a sbare-cut of sails or coloured cones, harmonies and visions of depth and galaxies, that drag death nature as memories, and more, trees, plants, flowers and snails, very stylized, saw trhough deformed prisms.We can’t understand in his new fantastic painting where there is the man and where the artist. One thing is sure, his painting are good looking and they are very interesting, because they deserve to be studied. Nic Giaramita
